The Meta Discussion
Over on the right there you’ll see a link titled “The Meta Discussion.” “Meta” is kind of an ugly word, but we know what we’re doing, we promise. This week we got a string of emails making suggestions to the site: not about show topics or guests, but about what we should actually be doing with the site and its community, and how we could be better integrating them into the show.
We, for our part, have a long list of things we’d love to be able to do for the site, things that require development money (or generous or inspired developers) or maybe just a little more time. We figure we could do a better job responding to what’s on your mind for the site, and letting you know what’s on ours.
And, of course, at some point we hope the two will converge. To that end, we created a Google email list titled “Chris Lydon’s Open Source: The Meta Discussion.” Everyone who cares or is even only nominally interested in site or community structure is invited — begged — to join.
Start here. And here is a fuller explanation of what the email list is for.
